Event Details

Taiga will look to continue his momentum from his 4-fight win streak and take the Super Featherweight title from reigning champion Chanhyeong Lee at RISE 175 on January 14. Lee himself is coming off a loss, one weight class up, against Hideki at the RISE World Series 2023.

Except for a tie in 2022, Taiga’s 2022–2023 has been successful, with wins against previous Super Featherweight contender Hyuma Hitachi, current Lightweight title holder Kan Nakamura, and Paul Karpowicz on the MTGP card with Takeru. He hopes to win his first title after winning the 2017 K-1 60 KG crown.

After losing his last battle, Chanhyeong Lee will look to win. This was one division up and a fight to revenge his defeat to Hideki, but the result surprised many fans given Lee’s momentum. Lee remarked in the post-fight interview that the match showed several of his vulnerabilities and that he will work on them in his championship defence against Taiga.
